It’s not enough to just heal. We need closure. We need to know that those responsible are no longer in a position hurt us. We need to be assured that those that helped Trump are censured with the same prejudice they chose to use against us. We are desperately in need of representatives that represent our needs, and not just the smoke and mirrors of the hypocritically guilty. They are desperately trying to salve over their own part in their attempt to retain power at the expense of our democracy. The time for healing will come, but not before we cauterize the infection that made us sick in the first place. It’s the fear of that cleansing fire, that is behind the pleas of the guilty to dismiss all that, and get straight to the part where they start planning their next attempt to hold on to power without the work of earning it, or wielding it in the interest of those it was meant to benefit. First we clean the corruption out of the wound, then we can heal.
