You realize that we are the government, right? Ours is a representative government, that means that it is our responsibility to elect representatives competent in running a government. A failure of government is a reflection of our incompetence, not theirs.

Where Am I, And How Did I Get In This Handbasket?>
There are Americans intentionally turning a blind eye to factual information, in order to maintain an illusion presented to them by corporate propaganda, and sustained by the media those corporations own. This has created a block of voters that will not be swayed by logic or proof. The only way they can be overcome is to muster more voters at the polls than they can provide.
How Did You Get Here?
“If Trump wins I’ll leave the country”
All joking aside, what would it take for you? Take a moment and consider just how much of what, would it take to really make you pick up and bail out on this country.
It would take a lot wouldn’t it. A great deal more than Trump sitting in the white house I’ll bet.
Project what you’ve just been thinking onto the refugees trying to get into this country. They aren’t thinking about taking jobs, they aren’t after a bunch of free stuff. They are so
tired,
afraid,
unhappy,
broken,
fed up, and done with whatever straw was the last one, that they grabbed what they could carry and turned their back on the country that had been their ancestral home. In some cases even to the extent that they offered their life, for the chance to be free of what lay behind them. Sound familiar? There is a story just like that in the family history of practically every. single. American. You have so much more in common with these people than you have differences.
Make for them a home, in the country where a home was made for your family. Try not to be afraid of the refugees, I assure you they are afraid enough for all of us. We must do what we have aways done. Assimilate these refugees into our culture. From them and their culture we will learn new things and adopt from them those elements that we find worthwhile. From us they will gradually learn to become a part of this great melting pot, this amalgamation of people. It’s time, and past time that we remembered how we became Americans.
